Wow, I start school tomorrow!!!  8th grade.  Just one more year and I will be in high school!!!

 Dance already started...last week.  The groups are AMAZING!  I can't wait for them to be done!!!

 Well, I am so tired from the party and from shopping.  I better get some rest before school tomorrow!

HEY--So on the weekend of Sept. 13 and 14 I am going to a photo shoot to be featured in a dancers book, written and shot by Debra Olette! It is going to be much much fun!!! Hello everybody,I am Alexis. I love to dance. I also like to play volleyball to! School is coming up fast...I am not ready for it yet.I have had a busy summer with dance from performances.Have any of you been to the state fair?! So, yesterday was the last day of dance camp.  It was really fun!  We had some guest teachers including...Valery Lantratov-a Russian Ballet dancer and the director of The Russian National Ballet Foundation.  He was absolutely amazing, and he taught me so much!  Also Anh Nguyden-a professional modern dancer.  He was also very amzing.  We had a new tap teacher and a new hip hop teacher.  We also had a new contemporary teacher.  She was Lisa Lammare from Detroit Dance Collective.  Auditions were held yesterday and I tried out for Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz.  I think I did well, but that's for the judges to decide!

So, I just got home from Cathy Roe Nationals.  It went very well.  My solo (A New Beginning), received a High Gold Award.  It also received an Intense Dancing Award!  Sherilyn Nott Foley and Cathy Roe announced that I was an Intense dancer, I took command of the stage, and I had great fluid transitions. Wow, I can't explain how excited I am for NATIONALS!!  Today is Friday and Nationals are on Saturday.  I'm going to Cathy Roe.  Mr. Zac changed some parts in my solo and they are such awesome changes!  I am looking forward to preform my almost new solo.  His style is so ME!  Next year for my solo, I am going to do a contemperary/modern solo.  Ms. Gina Huber is going to choreograph it, and Mr. Zac Read  is going to teach it.  Also Ms. Chrissanah Rose wants to help teach it!  It is going to be great!  Ms. Gina Huber lives in Chicago, but she is coming to Bedford at the end of this month (after nationals) to choreograph the whole thing!  I am not sure what the song is, she said it is going to be a surprise!  So, I hope it's a good song or else I am not sure what we will do then! LOL!!  If you are reading my journal right now I want you to go to Hall Of Fame.com and go to year 2008, Detroit Mi. and watch The Story!  It is a beautiful modern dance and I love love love the song!  I g2g...practice my solo!

Hi Dance Friends,

Wow, I have been so busy lately!  Practicing for my solo (half an hour on Mondays and 2 hours on Wednesdays), summer classes, dance camps, and a volleyball camp!!!  Well, today we are going to a park to see fireworks for the 4th of July...even though today is the 3rd!  LOL!  So, my solo is going really well, Mr. Zac is pretty much changing everything...but it's good because he is adding really neat stuff!!  Like there is this one roll, where I do sort of a FishFlop, except I keep my legs up and twist back and arch!!  It looks a lot cooler than what it sounds like, although my friends think it sounds pretty cool!  Well, I better get going!!!
